On Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Mercatale Val di Pesa, the Slow Food Earth Market returns—one of the most representative events of the Chianti Classico Marathon weekend.
From 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the town center will come alive with local producers and food artisans, showcasing products based on quality, seasonality, and respect for the land. A great opportunity to discover and purchase genuine products directly from those who make them, enjoying an authentic experience of taste and tradition.
Within the market, a special event will also take place, dedicated to one of the symbols of Tuscan cuisine:
“Blind tasting and competition for the best schiacciata with olive oil: a timeless pairing”, scheduled from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
The tasting will be led by Giuseppe Scialabba, who will also coordinate a panel of expert judges. Participants will taste a selection of schiacciata from local bakeries, putting their palate to the test to determine the best. At the end, the top three winners will be awarded.
