The Chianti Classico Marathon has always been an event that brings together sport, territory, and community. For the 2026 edition, scheduled for Sunday, May 10, this spirit also takes shape in an important initiative dedicated to inclusion: “A Ruota Libera”, an accompanied walk designed for wheelchair athletes.
An initiative that enriches the event program and confirms the organizers’ commitment to making the Chianti Classico Marathon an accessible and shared experience, open to everyone.
A dedicated route in the heart of Chianti
“A Ruota Libera” will take place on a dedicated course of 4 kilometers, designed to ensure safety and accessibility without giving up the charm of the territory. Participants will be able to experience the unique atmosphere of Chianti Classico, among stunning landscapes, vineyards, and nature-filled views.
The start is scheduled at 9:00 AM from Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Mercatale Val di Pesa (FI), the same vibrant hub that will host all the races of the Chianti Classico Marathon.

“A Ruota Libera” is not just a sporting initiative, but a moment of meeting and participation. The walk is accompanied and designed to be experienced together, in a spirit of mutual support, inclusion, and conviviality.
