There’s a novelty in the awards ceremony of the 2024 edition of the Chianti Classico Marathon.

This year, the organizing committee has decided to award more categories than in past editions. A total of 56 athletes will be awarded. Taking home bottles of wine and locally sourced products will be: the male and female winners of the 21.8 km trail and the 47.2 km ultratrail, regardless of their category, for a total of four awardees.

Then, the awards will proceed with the top five finishers for trail and ultratrail in the following categories: overall male and female (5+5 m/f trail and 5+5 m/f ultratrail, totaling 20 athletes). The top five in the veterans category (5+5 m/f trail and 5+5 m/f ultratrail, totaling 20 athletes). And the top three in the silver category (3+3 m/f trail and 3+3 m/f ultratrail), totaling 12 athletes.

The novelty is therefore the addition of “overall winners” and the male/female silver category among the awardees.

The prizes to be distributed, as mentioned, are 56 in total and will consist of magnums and bottles of Chianti Classico wine produced in the area, bottles of extra virgin olive oil from Chianti Classico, honey, packages of artisanal Fabbri pasta, and more.
