The 2019 edition of the Chianti Classico Marathon has been enriched with a new event. An appointment that could not miss as the tastings in the cellar.
Below you will find a list of Chianti Classico wineries, some of which are also crossed by the race, which organize visits to the winery and tasting of some wines, oil and other products of their company.
To participate, unless otherwise indicated alongside the event description, you must book through our website, sending an email to email@example.com specifying: name and surname, selected tasting, time and place, number of participants.

Saturday 1 June 10.00 am and 4.00 pm: tastings with tour of the medieval cellar (last entry at 15).
Sunday 2 June from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm with time reservation (last admission at 5.00 pm).
Tasting of 6 wines accompanied by bruschetta with DOP Chianti Classico monovarietal oil, pecorino cheese of various seasoning with home-made mustards, crostini.
Price: € 15, reserved only for marathon participants and family members upon presentation of the bib.
Saturday 1 June: dinner for athletes and family. Pairing with wines obtained exclusively from vineyards crossed by the Marathon. The locations of the vineyards will be shown on the map of the race route.
- Tasting of 3 pecorino cheeses: fresh pecorino cheese with red pepper mostarda, red pepper pecorino cheese with yellow pepper mostarda, Tuscan pecorino cheese Dop aged with pods jelly. Fettunte with two mono-varietal Dop Chianti Classico oils, fresh tomato bruschetta, capers, basil and oregano. Tasty rustico with melted pecorino cheese, spicy salami, Maremma datterino and balsamic vinegar for 8 years. Warm rustico with lard pesto from the Alta Val di Greve, acacia honey and walnuts. Crostino with chicken liver with Vin Santo. Coccino with Tuscan ribollita. Dried Tomatoes in Oil.

- Tortiglioni pasta from ancient Tuscan grains with very fresh pesto.
- Paired with Chianti Classico Riserva 2011.
- Peposo di Manzo with baked goods cooked in Chianti Classico, Campogialli zolfini beans, seasonal mixed salad.
- Pairing with lots of 2011.
- Eggnog parfait with artisanal frolle.
- Vin Santo Chianti Classico 2012 combination.
- Natural mineral water, effervescent mineral water.
- Distillates. Coffee.

Maximum number of participants 48 people.
For logistical reasons, guests will be accommodated on round tables for 8 people (who can also become 9 or 10 people in order not to break families). It is not possible to reserve tables for the reason mentioned above.
The deadline for dinner reservations is set for 2 pm on Saturday 1 June.
Any alternative menu for food intolerances must always be communicated by 14 June 1.

Saturday 1st June 11.00 am: Visit to the Castle and the ancient cellar with tasting of 3 wines + oil.
Saturday 1 June 4.00 pm: Walk starting from Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Mercatale in Val di Pesa and arriving on foot up to Castello di Gabbiano and tasting of 3 wines + oil. The distance to the trip on foot is about 2.8 km for a duration of 35 minutes. The walk will be conducted under the guidance of experts.
For tastings, at the request of more than 10 members, other visiting hours + tastings are also provided. Saturday 1st June: 12.00 am – 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm – 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm – 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm
Price: 10 euros per person with bib.
