Sunday, May 10, 2026 — The Chianti Classico Marathon returns to celebrate sport, nature, and the timeless beauty of Tuscany.
Now in its 8th edition, the event has become one of the most loved and scenic running experiences in the region.
From today, registrations are officially open for the Chianti Classico Marathon 2026, featuring three distances designed for runners and walkers who want to experience the magic of the Chianti hills:
🏃♂️ Ultra Trail 47 km – Back to the classic route, after last year’s 53 km edition. A demanding and spectacular course winding through vineyards, hills, and ancient castles.
🏃♀️ Trail 22 km – A thrilling and panoramic race, perfect for those who love to run surrounded by nature, white roads, and charming medieval villages.
🚶♂️ 10 km “Passo Libero” and Nordic Walking – Open to everyone, this route captures the spirit of Chianti with a gourmet stop along the way featuring local delicacies, Chianti Classico wine, and live music for an unforgettable, joyful experience.
The start and finish will once again be in Mercatale Val di Pesa, the heart of the event and a true meeting point for athletes, families, and wine lovers alike.
Each participant will receive a race pack including a bottle of Chianti Classico DOCG, a collector’s technical shirt featuring an illustration of an iconic Chianti location, a post-race lunch included in the registration fee, and exclusive gifts.
For the two competitive races, the finisher medal will be a work of art: handcrafted in Impruneta terracotta by local artisan Alberto Bellosi, symbolizing the union between sport and Tuscan craftsmanship.
Participants in the 10 km Passo Libero will also receive a dedicated technical shirt and enjoy a rich mid-route refreshment stop with music, wine, and delicious local products.
The Chianti Classico Marathon is more than a race — it’s an experience that celebrates the land, its people, and its authentic soul.
A journey through vineyards, flavors, and breathtaking landscapes in the heart of Chianti.
