To celebrate the deep connection between sport, the land, and local identity, four athletes registered for the race have been selected to receive a symbolic gift: a jersey dedicated to Chianti Classico, a sign of belonging and shared values rooted in our territory.
This special initiative is promoted by the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium on the occasion of the Chianti Classico Marathon 2025.
🎉 Here are the names of the four recipients of the jerseys:
👕 Marco Matteucci – from Johannesburg, South Africa: a symbol of passion that knows no borders.
👕 Giovanni Mattonai – athlete of Luivan Settignano, representing the local area and running spirit.
👕 Viola Cagna – registered for the 21.8 km Trail, a female presence from Rimini.
👕 Ingrid Hegertun – also running the 21.8 km, arriving from Norway, blending nature and international sports culture.
The jerseys will be officially handed out on race day, Sunday, May 11, 2025, in the main square of Mercatale Val di Pesa, during a symbolic moment that will bring together athletes, the public, and the local community in a spirit of celebration and unity.
A small gesture to say thank you to those who chose to run with us in the heart of Chianti Classico.
